M Modern Gallery Signs ʻMod-Cultureʼ Artist George Perrou
Palm Springs, CA – February 10th, 2010: M Modern Gallery of Palm Springs, CA announces itʼs new representation of artist George Perrou. The gallery will begin showing Perrouʼs original paintings and limited edition prints this week to coincide with their kick-off events of 'Modernism Week', an annual celebration of Palm Springs' position as the epicenter of modernist architecture, art and design.
Perrouʼs artwork aligns with the Mid-Century Modernist aesthetic which M Modernʼs specialization is internationally known. Best described as ʻMod-Cultureʼ, Perrouʼs style speaks directly of the Coachella Valley landscape. “I am powerfully moved by vastness,” says Perrou, “of uninterrupted sight and the illusion of endlessness. And because Palm Springs is intentionally designed as a retreat, it's a vast, blank canvas where the bold, unconventional lines of a Wexler can stand and assert themselves amongst the whimsical Seuss-like palm trees. I am honored to be represented in Palm Springs by M Modern.”
